Magic Mix
A product by Chroma that continues to
prove itself worthy of its name!
Magic Mix has been a superior tool for me to use throughout all of my painting. I began using this product only with lettering. Used with Silver Brush - Ruby Satin Brights I discovered that not only could I achieve crisp letters three and four at a time but, if a word was misspelled that within three to four minutes I could simply remove it. The open time is short but just enough time to step off a ladder or put my canvas at arms reach to check balance and quality of the lettering.
Addition of Magic Mix to the pigment increases transparency. Tints on a wall are beautiful when this product is used. Simply move your all purpose brush in a swirling manner with Magic Mix and a tish of pigment and it's amazing. More texture? Use shop towels to lift off excess or dab and lift where you want more negative space. I've enjoyed this product so much that I find myself using it throughout all my painting.
Chroma's Incredible Brush Cleaner
Well kept brushes are imperative for good lettering. Silver brush - Ruby Satin Brights hold their edge for crisp letters. I seem to be a stickler for brushes that are taken care of. They are expensive and I've found that with correct care that a set of brushes can last for up to one year. That's using them directly on walls.
Because this cleaner has conditioner in it, preservation of brushes can be achieved. Work the soap directly into the bristles as far up as it can go using your finger or hard surface gently guiding all pigment out of the brush. This process is done twice so that all color is out. Bring to a chisel edge and allow to dry. Before using the next time, remove conditioner with water.
