Painter, Designer and Teacher
Debbie has lived in Red Bluff, California for the past 30 years. Childhood days were spent in the San Francisco Bay Area. While in the Bay area some 35 years ago, Debbie started painting with her Mother. Her first introduction to the decorative arts was in oils, but later the medium of choice became acrylics. Now acrylics, along with pen and ink are her favorite mediums. Due to the raising of five children, twelve years between the youngest and oldest, and life's other demands, Debbie's painting time became fragmented for a few years. Interested in Calligraphy Debbie attended several classes at California State University, Chico, then continued with other instructors.
Bringing her love for painting, design, calligraphy and teaching skills together has brought her from home studio instruction to teaching at chapters, mini-conventions and Society of Decorative Painters International conferences.
As a member of the Northern California Decorative Artist's chapter, Debbie has served in various capacities on the local board. During the past five years she has also had the opportunity to design and display for local community fund raisers as well as at international exhibits. Debbie loves designing but most of all she loves the combination of art forms and sharing this with others through her teaching.
